Quick Words

Quick Words is a dynamic and engaging word game that challenges players to form words from a given set of letters. The game is designed to be both fun and educational, making it a great choice for word enthusiasts and casual players alike. With a unique scoring system and multiple game modes, Quick Words offers endless hours of entertainment.

Rules

In Quick Words, players gain points for each valid word they form. The scoring system is based on the length of the word, with each subsequent letter in the word increasing in value. For example, a two-letter word scores 3 points (1+2), and a five-letter word scores 15 points (1+2+3+4+5). However, incorrect words result in penalties, where a two-letter invalid word deducts 2 points, a three-letter invalid word deducts 3 points, and so on. The game uses the LibreOffice dictionary to validate words.

Scoring

The scoring system in Quick Words is designed to reward longer words and penalize incorrect ones. Here's how it works:

Each valid word gains points based on the position of its letters.
For example, the word "PLAY" scores 10 points (1+2+3+4), and "GAME" also scores 10 points (1+2+3+4).
Incorrect words result in negative points. For instance, "GAEM" would result in a deduction of 4 points because it is a four-letter invalid word.

Game Modes

Quick Words offers two main game modes: Multiplayer and Solo.

Multiplayer

In Multiplayer mode, players can compete with friends or other players online. Games can be set to public, allowing anyone to join, or private, restricted to players with a specific link. Each multiplayer game consists of multiple rounds, with the number and duration of rounds customizable at the start. After each round, players can review and challenge the validity of each other's words using the LibreOffice dictionary. The player with the highest score at the end of the last round wins.

Solo Game

Solo mode allows players to play alone, perfect for practicing and honing their skills. This mode is ideal for players who want to improve their word-forming abilities or simply enjoy a relaxing game at their own pace.
