Hodordle

Hodordle is a word game created by Vignesh Venkat, a San Francisco-based tech student and game enthusiast. It is a variation of the popular game Wordle, with a similar design, concept, and gameplay.

In Hodordle, like in Wordle, players are presented with a mystery word that they need to figure out. However, in Hardle, players have 8 attempts to guess the secret word, whereas, in Wordle, players have 6 attempts. This provides players with a slightly larger number of opportunities to solve the puzzle.

One notable difference in Hardle is the use of pink, blue, and gray hues, as opposed to the green, gray, and yellow colors used in Wordle. These colors play an important role in the game's twist. The pink and blue tiles represent mischievous twins who can interchange their roles unexpectedly. For example, if the pink tiles have all the correct letters today and the blue tiles have some of the correct letters, their roles may switch the following day. This element of unpredictability sets Hardle apart as the "Hard Wordle."

To play Hodordle, players start with a blank 8x5 grid with no indicators or suggestions available. Like in Wordle, careful planning and execution of moves are crucial to maximize each guess and determine the letters in the secret word. Good luck!

Some more about the Hodordle game:

Features:

  1. Daily Word Game: Hardle is designed as a daily word game, providing players with a new mystery word each day.
  2. Extended Attempts: In contrast to Wordle's 6 attempts, Hardle gives players 8 attempts to figure out the secret word.
  3. Color Scheme: Hardle uses pink, blue, and gray hues instead of the green, gray, and yellow colors used in Wordle.
  4. Role Switching Tiles: The pink and blue tiles in Hodordle act as mischievous twins, sometimes pretending to be the other. They may have different roles and positions each day, adding unpredictability to the game.

Game Rules:

  1. Guess the Secret Word: The objective of Hardle is to guess the mystery word within the given number of attempts.
  2. Utilize the Grid: Players are provided with a blank 8x5 grid to make their guesses. The grid does not have any indicators or suggestions.
  3. Letters and Positions: By making guesses, players try to determine the correct letters and their positions in the secret word.
  4. Role Switching Tiles: The pink and blue tiles may switch roles and positions between days, adding a level of complexity to the game.

Tips to Win:

  1. Strategic Guessing: Plan your guesses strategically, considering the available attempts and the potential role switching of the pink and blue tiles.
  2. Analyze Patterns: Look for patterns and commonalities between different words you've guessed and the feedback provided by the game.
  3. Elimination Approach: Use the feedback from previous guesses to narrow down the possibilities and eliminate certain letters or positions.
  4. Learn from Role Switching: Pay attention to the switching roles of the pink and blue tiles, as it can provide hints and insights for future guesses.
  5. Practice and Persistence: Hardle can be challenging, so keep practicing, learn from your mistakes, and persist in improving your word-guessing skills.
