Rules of Hertl NHL

The rules of Hertl NHL are simple yet engaging, requiring both knowledge and deductive reasoning:

1. Guess the NHL Player in 8 Tries

The objective is to guess the name of a current NHL player in up to eight attempts. The player could be from any team in the league, so fans need to think about various rosters when forming their guesses.

2. Clue-Based Feedback System

After each guess, players receive clues based on a grid system that highlights various categories like the player’s team, position, nationality, and more. These categories help narrow down the possibilities and provide direction for the next guess:

Green means the guessed attribute is correct.
Yellow indicates the correct attribute is partially matched, such as being in the same conference or division but not on the exact team.
Red or No Highlight signifies that the attribute does not match the mystery player at all.

3. Category Breakdown

Players are given hints based on the following categories:

Team: The team the player currently plays for.
Division: Whether the player is in the same division as the guess.
Position: Whether the player shares the same position (e.g., forward, defenseman, goalie).
Nationality: Whether the player is from the same country as the guess.
Jersey Number: Whether the player’s jersey number is higher or lower than the guessed player's.

These clues provide valuable information to help players make more informed guesses with each attempt.
